Planning Your Timeline

Common Questions Prospective Students Have About Timing.

A few things worth thinking through as you decide when to start your nursing education.

Your timeline. A nursing license is required to practice as an RN. Planning your education timeline early helps you reach that goal sooner.

Your start date. Starting your program in 2026 means completing it by 2028. Anyone who delays simply starts that timeline later.

Real Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How we prepare, Mock examinations, mock clinical examinations qs are mapped to NCSBN Test Plan? +
It's a challenging exam, but it's teachable. NCLEX-style practice is built into all 8 quarters rather than crammed in at the end.
What does it actually cost — and what aid will I qualify for?+
Your actual cost depends on the financial aid you qualify for, so it varies from student to student. Depending on your FAFSA, you may qualify for a Federal Pell Grant, which generally does not have to be repaid), you may also qualify for federal direct loans, and state aid. For estimated program cost, or get a personalized estimate with the Net Price Calculator. Your exact figures depend on your FAFSA, which our team will help you complete. Individual eligibility varies.
Will my prior credits or healthcare experience transfer in?+
Often, yes. Active LPNs, CNAs, Medical Assistants, paramedics, and students with prior college coursework frequently transfer in with credit. The Registrar reviews each transcript individually, which can shorten your time and cost. The fastest way to find out is to start the eligibility review below.
Can I work while in the program?+
Most students work part-time (about 20 hours/week or less). Working full-time during clinical quarters is doable for some — usually those with flexible employers or PRN schedules. Plan for at least 20 hours/week of independent study. If your current schedule doesn't allow that, we'll help you map a plan.
When does the next cohort start?+
The next ASN cohort begins June 2026. The first step is the eligibility review below — 60 seconds, no commitment.
Will my ASN credits transfer to a BSN program later?+
Yes. Most Florida BSN programs accept ASN graduates with significant credit. Many PIC alumni move into RN-to-BSN bridge programs while working as RNs — often with employer tuition reimbursement helping cover the BSN cost.
Why should I consider PIC over a community college?+
Many Florida community-college nursing programs maintain multi-term waitlists. PIC admits qualified applicants directly into the next cohort. PIC is accredited by ABHES and ACEN, licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education, approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, VA-approved, and Title IV eligible. Our focus is nursing education.
