Professional Licensure Disclosures

State Educational Requirements for Nursing Licensure

This disclosure is published in accordance with ABHES Accreditation Manual Standard V.H.5 and 34 CFR §668.43(a)(5)(v). It applies to the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program and the Practical Nursing (PN) program offered by Premiere International College.

Programs with State Licensing Requirements

The following programs offered by Premiere International College have educational requirements for specific state licensing or credentialing:

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) — Prepares graduates for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories. Each state's Board of Nursing establishes its own educational requirements for RN licensure eligibility.

Practical Nursing (PN) — Prepares graduates for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure is required in all U.S. jurisdictions. Each state's Board of Nursing establishes its own educational requirements for LPN licensure eligibility.

Educational requirements for nursing licensure exist in every U.S. jurisdiction for both programs.

Institutional and Program Information

Premiere International College is institutionally accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program holds programmatic accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The ASN program is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing. The institution is licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education and participates in NC-SARA for interstate distance education delivery.

NC-SARA participation provides state authorization for the institution to offer distance education courses to students in SARA member states. NC-SARA participation does not address professional licensing board requirements. SARA participation does not mean the program meets nursing licensure requirements in any state other than Florida. Students located outside Florida must review the state-by-state determinations below.

Determination Categories

Meets Requirements The institution has determined that its curriculum satisfies the state educational requirements for licensure.
Does Not Meet Requirements The institution has determined that its curriculum does not satisfy the state educational requirements for licensure. Prospective students physically located in these states must complete an attestation prior to enrollment.
Has Not Been Determined The institution has not yet completed its determination as to whether its curriculum meets the state educational requirements for licensure. Prospective students located in these states are advised to contact the state Board of Nursing directly prior to enrollment.

What This Means for Prospective and Enrolled Students

If You Are in a State Listed as Meets Requirements (Florida)

Graduates of the program are eligible to apply for licensure by examination in Florida. No additional disclosure or student action is required for enrollment beyond the standard enrollment process.

If You Are in a State Listed as Does Not Meet Requirements (California)

Completion of the program will not be sufficient to meet the educational requirements for RN licensure in your state. Before enrollment can be processed, you must:

  1. Receive and review a written disclosure from the institution regarding the program's eligibility for licensure in your state.
  2. Complete and sign a Student Attestation Form confirming: (a) you received the disclosure, (b) you specify the state in which you intend to seek employment after graduation, and (c) the program meets the educational requirements for licensure in that intended state.
  3. The institution will validate your attestation before enrollment is finalized. Enrollment will not be processed until a validated attestation is on file.

If You Are in a State Listed as Has Not Been Determined

The institution has not yet completed its determination for your state. Before enrolling, you are strongly encouraged to contact your state's Board of Nursing directly to confirm whether the program's curriculum will meet the requirements for licensure in your state. Contact information for each state Board of Nursing is available through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing directory at ncsbn.org and the NC-SARA Professional Licensure Directory at nc-sara.org.

Notice to Currently Enrolled Students

Change of Location: If you relocate to a state where the institution has determined the program does not satisfy the educational requirements for licensure, the institution will provide you with direct written notice within 14 calendar days of becoming aware of the change in your location.

Change in State Requirements: If the institution determines that the program no longer satisfies the educational requirements for licensure in a state where it was previously determined to meet requirements, the institution will provide you with direct written notice within 14 calendar days of making that determination.

Student Responsibility: Students are required to notify the institution within 10 calendar days of any change in their physical location. Failure to notify the institution may delay receipt of important information about the program's eligibility for licensure in the student's new location.

Additional Information

Completion of this program does not guarantee licensure in any state. In addition to meeting educational requirements, licensure candidates must pass the NCLEX examination, meet any additional state-specific requirements (background checks, fees, continuing education, etc.), and apply through the state Board of Nursing.

Board of Nursing Contact Information: A directory of all state Boards of Nursing is maintained by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing at www.ncsbn.org. The NC-SARA Professional Licensure Directory for Nursing is available at nc-sara.org.

Questions: Contact the Admissions Office for questions about this disclosure or to request a copy of the Student Attestation Form.
