Bachelors of Science in Nursing Program Objective

The primary educational objective of the RN to BSN Program is to increase the career and educational opportunities the professional registered nurse.  The RN to BSN Program of study is intended to introduce the concepts, values and behaviors necessary for nurses to transition into a more complex role within the health care community. Course work in nursing research and leadership provides an opportunity for students to refine their critical thinking abilities and knowledge while exploring and defining their leadership style. The concept of decision-making in an environment that considers ethical, legal and legislative constraints is introduced.

Program Description

As a requirement for Admission into Premiere International College, applicants must have completed all General Education and Pre-requisite courses as outlined and possess an Associate’s Degree in Science and valid Registered Nursing license. Students are required to submit a sealed, official transcript of their earned degree from another institution to PIC for evaluation of previously completed General Education and pre-requisite courses.

Students will be informed in writing of the outcome of the evaluation and specifically which courses will be accepted. A maximum of 104 credits can be transferred into the RN to BSN Program. Graduates of the RN to BSN program are eligible to apply for graduate programs with advanced nursing degrees.

 

Note: Students must successfully complete each and every course with a “B” (80%) or above. Students must complete a Community Capstone Project in order to be eligible for graduation. Upon successful completion of the program meeting all educational, instructional requirement and verification that all tuition and fees have been paid in full as applicable, the student’s degree will be conferred.

Admission to the RN to BSN Program at Premiere International College PIC requires that the following requirements met:

 

  1. Associate Degree in nursing from an approved or accredited nursing program.
  2. Minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  3. A grade of C or higher in all mathematics and science
  4. Current, unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in the United International Applicants must validate credentials with an approved National Association of Credential Evaluation Services NACES agency.
  5. A valid, active, unrestricted registered license.
  6. Have a physical examination verifying acceptable health status free from communicable diseases documented by an MD. DO, ARNP or PA.
  7. Negative PPD results or chest –x-ray within five years.
  8. Ability to meet the attendance requirements of the program.
  9. Compliance with PIC Drug-Free Policy.
  10. Completion of an application for admission to PIC and payment of application fee.
  11. Interview with the Nursing Program Director and/or faculty committee.
  12. Student must attend a school orientation prior to acceptance in to the school/nursing program.
  13. Satisfactory completion of general education and Pre-requisite courses as required by PIC.
  14. Have a laptop computer with the capabilities to meet the Hardware and Software Requirements by PIC.
  15. Two letters of recommendation.
