BLS Initial Certification

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (HCP) (C) is a classroom course that is designed to teach a variety of healthcare professionals how to recognize a number of life-threatening emergencies, how to provide CPR, how to use an AED and how to relieve choking in a

safe, timely, and effective manner. This course is for healthcare professionals who must know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a range of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Textbook cost is included in the BLS full course fee. Student is responsible for textbook for BLS renewal course. AHA requires each student to have a textbook available before, during and after the course. Students must pass a written exam and skills test in order to receive an AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider (C) course completion card.
